Prior to becoming a consultant with Egon Zehnder, Shalimar was a founding investor and Head of Communications at Siklus, a Jakarta based tech startup that aims to reduce single-use plastic waste through home delivered refill services for consumer products. Previously, Shalimar held roles at the World Bank where she advised on communications strategies and coordinated engagements with external stakeholders and civil society organizations. Her professional career started in media and communications firms, where she focused on client advisory covering communications positioning, media training, brand marketing and crisis management.
Shalimar learned and developed leadership skills early in her youth when she attended Massanutten Military Academy, a college preparatory school, and graduated with the highest military ranking as the first female cadet Battalion Commander. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Johnson & Wales University, and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
